Thursday
I think it is great and all that everyone loves St.Patrick’s day but do you really?
Do you know who St. Patrick was?
St. Patrick helped Ireland change to Christianity (a lot will claim that he introduced it to Ireland) Ireland was only half Christian at the time. He was loved because he did not force his beliefs on anyone and he would help everyone and deliver his sermons in fields in small villages so that they would have the opportunity to come to a church service. He celebrated by building a bonfire on Easter to celebrate and pretty much honor the gods like a ritual and this is how the sun symbol was incorporated into the what we know as the Celtic cross.
On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink, and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.
I for one am not Irish and if I am it is not enough to claim. So Happy St. Patty's day to all ya'll! I am pretty sure there will be a lot of crazy people out tonight here in Austin so Derek and I will stay put. I think this is sad but if people want to get wasted and gather then !!!! heres to you... maybe there will be one less idoit in the world tomorrow.
I will drink but not kill my self doing it!
